Ezeiza to Buenos Aires: choose the right airport transfer
Compare Line 8, Tienda León, official taxis, private transfers and app rides from Ezeiza, with practical choices for each Buenos Aires barrio.

For most visitors, the choice is straightforward:
- Choose an official taxi or pre-booked transfer for a direct trip to Palermo, Recoleta or San Telmo—especially with several people, substantial luggage or a late arrival.
- Choose the Tienda León airport bus if you are travelling alone, can manage your bags and do not mind arranging the final leg from its city terminal.
- Choose the Line 8 colectivo for the lowest fare, provided you have time and your destination is near its central route.
- Choose Uber or Cabify if you have mobile data and are comfortable finding the signed app pick-up point.
Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) is just over 30 kilometres from central Buenos Aires. A car trip usually takes 45–60 minutes, but rain or heavy traffic can extend it to 90 minutes, according to Argentina’s official visitor guidance.
Options at a glance
| Option | Where it leaves you | Useful for | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official taxi or private transfer | Your exact address | Groups, heavy bags, late arrivals | Usually costs more than the bus |
| Uber or Cabify | Your exact address | App users with mobile data | Pick-up coordination after a flight |
| Tienda León | Terminal Pellegrini in Retiro, or Aeroparque on the airport route | Solo travellers with manageable luggage | Usually requires a second ride to the hotel |
| Line 8 colectivo | Plaza de Mayo and other stops along its route | Lowest budget; central destinations | Slower and less convenient with luggage |
Prices below were checked on 30 October 2026. Argentina’s transport prices can change quickly, so confirm the fare with the operator before travelling.
Official taxi or pre-booked transfer: simplest door to door
This is the least complicated arrival: give the driver your accommodation address and avoid changing vehicles with luggage. It is particularly sensible for Palermo and Recoleta, which are not the end points of either airport bus, and for a group heading to one address.
Official taxis can be arranged at the Taxi Ezeiza counter after arrivals and operate 24 hours. Remises—pre-priced private-hire cars—also have arrivals-area counters; ask whether tolls are included before paying. These arrangements are outlined in the official visitor guidance.
Taxi Ezeiza describes its service as prepaid: passengers pay a fixed fare at its stands in terminals A or C before boarding. Its published fare to Capital Federal is ARS 60,000. A standard car takes up to three passengers; a larger group or excess luggage requires another vehicle type. Check the company’s current fare page rather than relying on an old screenshot.
For a separate private transfer, confirm:
- whether the quote is per vehicle or per passenger;
- the luggage allowance and vehicle size;
- whether tolls and waiting time are included;
- where the driver will meet you after customs;
- what happens if the flight is delayed.
Use the booked company’s counter or stated meeting procedure rather than accepting an unsolicited ride offer.
Uber or Cabify: door to door with app pricing
Uber and Cabify are booked in their apps. Ezeiza has signposted meeting points at the arrivals exit; the fare appears in the app when the ride is requested, with payment charged to the card linked to the account. These arrangements are confirmed by Visit Argentina.
This option works best when you have mobile data, allowing you to remain in contact with the driver while walking to the meeting point. Compare the live app quote with the fixed taxi or transfer price rather than assuming one will always be cheaper. Before entering, match the registration and driver details to the app.
Tienda León: the middle-ground airport bus
Tienda León currently runs a direct airport coach to Terminal Pellegrini, Carlos Pellegrini 971 in Retiro. The operator lists a journey time of one hour, a promotional web fare of ARS 16,500 per person and a list fare of ARS 18,000. Confirm the latest price and departure when booking on the Tienda León site; its contact page confirms the terminal address.
The bus is most compelling for one person. For three travellers, promotional tickets total ARS 49,500 before the onward ride from Pellegrini—already fairly close to Taxi Ezeiza’s published ARS 60,000 Capital Federal fare. The useful comparison is the total cost to your accommodation, not just the first ticket.
Terminal Pellegrini is a transfer point, not a hotel drop-off. Plan the final leg:
- Recoleta: a relatively short onward taxi or app ride, depending on the address.
- Palermo: another ride north-west from the terminal.
- San Telmo: another ride south; Line 8 may be the more direct budget option if the accommodation is near Plaza de Mayo or Avenida de Mayo.
Tienda León also sells a direct Ezeiza–Aeroparque (AEP) service. Its current page quotes 1 hour 20 minutes, an online promotional fare of ARS 17,000 per person and a list fare of ARS 20,000. Treat the duration as an operator estimate, not a guaranteed connection time: road traffic and the time needed to collect and recheck bags still matter.
Line 8 colectivo: cheapest, but check the service
The Line 8 semi-express is the lowest-cost option for reaching central Buenos Aires. Official visitor guidance says it leaves from the arrivals/departures area at Terminal C, reaches Plaza de Mayo in just over an hour and accepts debit cards, credit cards and SUBE. See the current Line 8 airport information.
Line 8 has multiple service patterns, so confirm the destination and service before boarding. The route continuing between Ezeiza and Aeroparque is not a quick airport shuttle: a current route listing shows 106 stops and an estimated end-to-end duration of about 148 minutes, passing Retiro, Plaza de Mayo, Congreso, Once and Liniers. Use the Line 8 route and live-arrival listing to distinguish it from the shorter semi-express trip to the centre.
Line 8 is a reasonable arrival choice when:
- price matters more than convenience;
- you can comfortably handle your luggage on a city bus;
- you have confirmed the relevant service is running;
- your destination is around Plaza de Mayo, Microcentro or the northern edge of San Telmo.
It is less attractive for Palermo or most of Recoleta because another connection is normally required. It is also a poor fit when carrying bulky bags or working against a flight connection.
For later bus journeys, the national Cuándo SUBO app provides real-time information for more than 100 participating lines in Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires, although it does not cover every line. The government explains its scope on the Cuándo SUBO page.
Which option fits your arrival?
Palermo or Recoleta
Take a taxi, app ride or private transfer for the cleanest door-to-door trip. Tienda León can save money for one traveller, but include the onward ride from Terminal Pellegrini in the comparison.
San Telmo or the historic centre
Line 8 becomes more practical because its central route reaches Plaza de Mayo. Tienda León also works, but its Retiro terminal leaves you north of San Telmo. With several passengers or heavy bags, direct road transport is easier.
A late-night arrival
A pre-booked transfer or the 24-hour official taxi service removes the need to coordinate a bus and onward transport. Keep the accommodation’s full street address available offline.
A connection to Aeroparque
Use the direct Tienda León airport bus or a car rather than travelling into the city and improvising another connection. Line 8 also links Ezeiza and Aeroparque, but the published route has many stops; consider it only with a generous layover.
Before leaving arrivals
- Save the destination’s full address—not only the hotel name.
- Check the live road time and the operator’s current departure or quote.
- Confirm the total price, payment method, tolls and luggage capacity.
- For an app ride, match the registration and driver before entering the car.
- For Line 8, go to Terminal C and verify the service and destination before boarding.
- For a taxi or remis, use an official counter or confirmed booking rather than an unsolicited approach.
Compare the whole journey—including a second ride from the bus terminal, luggage handling and possible traffic—to your actual Buenos Aires address. The lowest fare out of Ezeiza is not necessarily the best-value arrival.
